Committed to the empowerment of IMGs across Australia
From Cuba to Europe as a child, and Europe to Australia as an adult, my journey will be a familiar story for many IMGs - it is one of great challenges and triumphs. In 2016, I graduated from the Complutense University of Madrid with my MBBS and planned to move to Australia with my husband, where I hoped to begin working as a doctor in its reputable health system, without too many barriers.
Through my own frustrated experience of the complexities and difficulties in accessing quality information and training during this process, I founded the IMGSC or the International Medical Graduates Sydney Community in order to bring IMGs together and understand what to do and how to do it. The purpose of creating this community was to promote mutual support and learning. While I worked as a tutor and lecturer at Western Sydney University, I began understanding the IMG process and supporting other IMGs to navigate this difficult journey. During this time I built an AMC MCQ curriculum and a 100-day course that is fit-for-purpose. Our informal study group composed of over 50 IMGs were all successful in passing the AMC MCQ exam as a result of this course! From this, Dr Laura's Medical Education & Coaching was born.
At Dr Laura's Medical Education & Coaching, we are dedicated to providing the support, networks and resources that international medical graduates need to pass their AMC exams and become registered and employable Australian doctors.
Our team is comprised of experienced IMGs who have already succeeded in taking the critical steps towards full Australian registration. Importantly, our team is also a collective of talented educators who are not only passionate about helping others succeed in this challenging field, but are also skilled in planning and designing classes and workshops that enable learning and development to thrive. Beyond our courses, we offer personalised coaching sessions and study plans to ensure that each of our students is fully prepared to plan their trajectory forward, excel in their exams and achieve their overall goals.

We understand the unique challenges that international medical graduates face, because we have faced them too. We are committed to providing the tools and resources needed to overcome them. Our comprehensive program includes online classes, practice exams, and one-on-one coaching sessions with our team of experts. We work in partnership with EmergencyFocus, who provide an excellent network partner in delivering a full program of knowledge and training, from AMC1 and AMC2 to guidance on specialist pathways.
We are proud to have helped countless medical graduates achieve their dream of becoming registered Australian doctors. Upon graduation from our course, each doctor also receives a graduation certificate recognising their dedication and grand future prospects.
